Prof Eleni Hadjiconstantinou: Brief Curriculum Vitae
Eleni Hadjiconstantinou joined Frederick University, Cyprus in October 2012, as Professor of Management Science, following twenty-two years of academic career at the Business School, Imperial College London. She holds a doctorate in Operational Research from Imperial College London and a First Class BSc (Honours) in Statistics and Computer Science from City University, London. Eleni is best known for her work in routing and distribution, transportation and logistics, production, resource planning, project scheduling, optimization of port terminal operations, network design and optimization, cutting and packing. Her research expertise lies in the mathematical modeling of real-world problems in the above areas and developing computationally efficient algorithms to enable more effective strategic and tactical decision-making in organizations. Eleni published widely in high quality academic journals, such as, Operations Research, Computers & Operations Research, European Journal of Operational Research, Networks, Journal of Global Optimization and authored/ co-authored papers (contributed and invited) presented at over fifty international conferences. In 2006, she was elected Fellow of the UK Operational Research Society (FORS). Over the years, Eleni consulted for companies in the field of mathematical modeling and optimization. She supervised many PhD students/ research associates and held sponsored research projects funded by industry, the UK Engineering and Physical Science Research Council (EPSRC) and the European Union. For many years, Eleni taught courses in operations and project management to undergraduate engineering students and MBA students at Imperial College London and other European universities. She also supervised more than 150 MBA/ MSc projects, many of which were sponsored by industrial companies and management consultancies. In addition, she has acted as Internal and External Examiner for several PhD Theses at Imperial College and other universities. |
