501: QUANTITATIVE METHODS IN ENGINEERING MANAGEMENT
Quantitative methods provide
techniques to support engineers for decision-making.The
application targets for these methods cover many fields of
engineering, such as design, planning, logistics,
scheduling, production, quality, inventory management,
service, etc. The course is mainly focused on modeling, simulation
and optimization.
Resources
AMEM 414: MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
DESIGN & OPTIMIZATION
The
aim of this course is to present comprehensive, consistent and
clear approach to engineering design. Students will be familiar
with designing methods and development processes during designing
and development of a new or an improved product. They will learn
how to plan carefully through designing processes in order to
increase the probability of success of a new venture. The course
is mainly focused on defining design objectives, early decision
making techniques, integrated design, parametric analysis, cost
minimization and optimization.
Resources
AMEM 412: MACHINE ELEMENTS III
The
aim of this course is to present
how to analyze and synthesize mechanisms and machines
, how
to compute the kinematics and kinetics of mechanisms, how to
evaluate and
optimize the dynamic response of mechanisms, how to design their
control system
and to
know the most common types of sensors and transducers used in
modern machines.
Resources
AMEM 208: DYNAMICS
The
aim of this course is to
present how to formulate and solve engineering mechanics
(dynamics) problems
, understand the role of inertia to systems, to compute the
performance requirements of a system, to measure and indicate the
role of eigenfrequencies and eigenmodes in the dynamic response of
a system
and to
solve mechanics problems using modern software.
Resources
AUTO 303: VEHICLE DYNAMICS &
CONTROL I
The
aim of this course is to present how to formulate
and solve problems regarding the response of a vehicle under
vertical excitation, to know and understand signal processing, to
measure the dynamic response of a vehicle and to introduce the
students to the basic concepts of controlling a dynamic system.
Resources
AUTO 402: VEHICLE DYNAMICS &
CONTROL II
The
aim of this course is to present how to formulate
and solve problems regarding the lateral dynamics of a vehicle, to
solve problems regarding active systems in modern vehicles and to
design new automotive systems as well as the
later advancements in automotive technology.
